Disney has revealed dates & details about the Halloween 2024 character dining experiences coming to Disneyland Resort, featuring fun food and cool culinary character costumes. Here’s what we know about the breakfast and brunch options coming to Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe.

This follows up on the success of last Halloween and Christmas seasons, when Goofy’s Kitchen hosted special seasonal meal with festive character costumes and seasonal food offerings for the first time. The costumes were actually the previous year’s in-park Disneyland character costumes, which were fantastic.

Disneyland has started doing new costumes for Mickey & Friends each year at Halloween and Christmas, so it could be the case that Goofy’s Kitchen gets the annual hand-me-downs from Disneyland. Or maybe they’ll stick with the circa-2022 Disneyland costumes. Again, it’s tough to top those! Anyway, here’s what Disneyland has announced is coming to Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe for the upcoming Halloween season…

Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast Buffet

Start your day at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa with Mickey Mouse and some of his closest pals. The cozy Craftsman-style dining room is a warm, friendly backdrop to your buffet breakfast adventure.

Choose from favorites such as croissants, muffins, danishes, seasonal sliced fruits, fresh berries, Mickey Waffles, Bananas Foster French Toast, pork carnitas chilaquiles, hand-carved meats, custom-made omelets and much more.

You can also ask your server for delights like steel cut oatmeal and yogurt parfaits.

Wave to Mickey and his friends as they make appearances during your breakfast feast!

Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Brunch Buffet

Adventurers of all ages can enjoy a buffet brunch any day of the week with Mickey and the gang. Enjoy a smorgasbord that includes Mickey Waffles, the fish of the day, assorted flatbreads, bread pudding, pork carnitas chilaquiles, beignets and much more.

Meet Mickey and his friends when they drop by to say hi!

The new Mickey’s Autumn Adventures at Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will feature seasonal décor and characters dressed in new attire starting September 3, 2024. Advance Dining Reservations are now open!

We already have our opening day ADRs for Mickey’s Autumn Adventures at Storytellers Cafe and cannot wait. It’s been a few years since we’ve done the Storytellers Cafe character breakfast, but our last experience with the meal was very positive. We likewise have high hopes for this!

Disneyland has not yet released details for the returning seasonal character meal, Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween. However, our expectation is that the dates are similar, and the pricing is consistent with the current menu.

Reservations for Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween at the Disneyland Hotel are coming soon–we’ll update this accordingly once they’re released!

We’re big fans of Goofy’s Kitchen and also plan on doing Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween once ADRs open. In our view, this is the flagship character meal at Disneyland Resort (even if the food is arguably better at Storytellers).

Goofy’s Kitchen has been our favorite character breakfast at Disneyland Resort for a while, and top recommendation for families who want the best balance of a fun experience and a fun meal. We’ll see if that remains true after we do both of the character meals for Halloween 2024!

Our full Review of Goofy’s Kitchen takes a look at the food, the highlights of which are some truly goofy breakfast pizzas, ranging from peanut butter and jelly to banana’s foster (they are so much better than they might sound).

Character interactions are also generally pretty good at both Storytellers and Goofy’s Kitchen–but the latter emphasizes fun over food. This isn’t to say the food is bad at Goofy’s Kitchen–it’s shockingly good for what it is–but it doesn’t aspire to be more than comfort food. (The breakfast pizzas are a fan favorite for good reason. PB&J pizza doesn’t have any right to be this good!)

Ultimately, the Halloween at Goofy’s Kitchen character breakfast, brunch, and dinner sounds fantastic–as does the new addition at Storytellers Cafe. As huge fans of this character dining experience and Christmas at Disneyland and new parents, this is right up our alley. The more seasonal offerings at Disneyland, the better!
