The 2024 Amazon Prime Big Deal Days shopping event is here with great discounts on Disney toys, books, games, LEGOs, travel gadgets, and more! This rounds up the best deals for your vacations to Walt Disney World and beyond, plus products that will make great gifts for yourself or others.
Amazon Prime’s Big Deal Days–informally known as October Prime Days–is basically Amazon’s Black Friday or Christmas in July sale. It certainly makes sense for the retail powerhouse to create its own money-saving holiday, as Amazon is already the single-biggest source of deals in November and December. This is basically a bridge between the summer sale and the holiday shopping season, exclusively for Prime subscribers. If you’re not already a member, click here for a FREE 30-day Amazon Prime trial membership that allows you to take advantage of these deals!
Amazon’s Prime Day is once again a multi-day sale this year, running October 8-9, 2024. If you want a broad selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Big Deal Day Sales page for the biggest savings and most popular deals. Even then, the options can be overwhelming, as there are literally tens of thousands of items on sale for October’s Prime Day.
This post aggregates Amazon’s best Prime deals likely to be of interest to Disney fans and travelers. Some items are Disney-specific, others are travel gadgets that are not exclusively Disney-related. The former are fun items for collectors, parents, people doing gift shopping, and so on. The latter are practical items that would be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations.
As with any of these promotional event sales, some “special offers” are great and some are…not so special. Now that this sale is a few years old, we have a decent amount of experience with it, and one thing we’ve consistently seen is that the October Prime Day sale is not as good as Black Friday, especially for bigger ticket items, like electronics. We generally hold off on any big purchases until November–the good news is that pre-Black Friday sales start fairly early in the month.
Still, there are some very good to great October Prime Day deals, some of which are on par with or better than Black Friday. We’ve combed through the various deals and are sharing only those we deem good. We receive a small commission from Amazon for your purchases, so buying through these links helps support the site. However, neither the price you pay nor our recommendations (or lack thereof) are impacted by that.
We’ve purchased these items ourselves, have friends who recommend them, or are debating the purchase. It should be clear from each item’s description how we feel about a particular product. On with the list of the Best Amazon Prime Day Deals for October 2024…
Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts Inflatable Lawn Decor – This is literally the coolest Halloween inflatable scene that I have ever seen. It’s not as good as the gigantic skeleton from Home Depot, but it’s up there!
Sadly, I’ve been “banned” from buying more inflatables for a while now after one fateful post-Christmas clearance shopping spree at Target. So please enjoy these on my behalf, and allow me to live vicariously through your yards! Don’t miss the 40% off coupon, which makes this a steal! (Amazon says low inventory on this item, so act fast!)
Minnie’s Sweet Spells & Be-Witching Bites Halloween T-Shirt – Cool shirt for the spook season that’s on sale for October Prime Days.
Mickey’s Halloween Trick or Treat Candy Co. T-Shirt – Ditto this one.
Sanderson Sisters Hocus Pocus Shirts – And all of these (there are several designs here–toggle them on the product page).
Save 20% on Amazon Resale – Select items on Amazon Resale (previously Amazon Warehouse Deals–it’s really just returned items) are 20% off. You’ll see a note on the product page, and the discount applied at checkout. No single item for this one, but lots of good stuff available!
Anker Nano Portable Charger (Select Colors) – My new favorite charger as of this year. The big selling point is the built-in Lightning connector for iPhones, meaning that you don’t need to carry additional cords. Select colors are 31% off for October Prime Day. There’s also a USB-C version for those of you with iPhone 15 or non-iPhones.
Anker Zolo 10,000mAh 30W Portable Charger with Built-in USB-C Cable for Travel – This charger is–without a doubt–the charger we’d buy if we had phones with a USB-C connector instead of the Lightning connector. This one is 32% off for October Prime Day! Also available in 20k capacity.
Anker 3-in-1 Power Bank USB C Charger Block – This is another one we don’t own (yet) that was just release in 2024. As the name suggests, this is a portable battery that doubles as a power bank with two USB-C ports.
Anker 24,000mAh Power Bank 3-Port Portable Charger with 140W Output – For those who really go hard playing the Lightning Lane refresh game. A great deal at 40% off, but it’s massive and more than most people will need!
Anker 3-Port Charging Block – This is a niche product, but it’s another game-changer for me. This Anker 3-port block charges my Nikon mirrorless camera, laptop, and phone simultaneously and the device is smaller than my Macbook charger by itself. At 47% off for Big Deal Days, the price is right!
Anker 47W Nano 3 USB-C Charger – This is what Sarah uses, and it’s absolutely perfect for her–or the average person. It’ll charge your devices faster than the standard charger (and lightyears quicker than in-wall ports at WDW hotels), and it’s 25% off.
Anker Outlet Extender – If you don’t need something that advanced (really only necessary for high-end cameras or laptops), this is a much less expensive alternative that also gives you added outlets.
Anker 4-Port USB Phone Charger – Same idea, but all USB. As you’ve probably gathered by now, Anker products are featured as part of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days Sale.
Apple AirPods Pro – These are the headphones I use. At 32% off, the discount is excellent by Apple standards–this is cheaper than they were last year for Black Friday!
Loungefly Gingerbread Scented Christmas Backpack – This Christmas-themed backpack featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse is adorable, and smells like gingerbread. I’m actually on the fence about whether that’s a good or bad thing? It’d probably make me hungry all the time. Either way, great deal ahead of the holiday season.
Loungefly The Mandalorian Baby Yoda Backpack – Everyone loves Baby Yoda (or Grogu, if you’re a dork) and this backpack is 33% off for Prime Day with another 10% off via clippable coupon.
Loungefly Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Kawaii Backpack – A cute (that’s what kawaii means) backpack with the GotG characters that’s 38% off for October’s Big Deal Days.
More Loungefly Deals – Lots of other Loungefly products on sale, including several more Disney items…some of which are kinda ugly.
Knockoff Loungefly Bag – Calling a spade a spade, this is basically a bootleg Loungefly bag. Now, I am definitely NOT the target audience for such a product, but as someone who doesn’t “get” how on earth Loungeflys are so expensive, I think this is a far, far superior option!
Encanto Capybara Pillow – This should technically be in the toys list below, but this seems like it could be a household or even travel accessory. Adorable pillow that’s hopefully a preview of the real wildlife coming to Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom. 60% off for Big Deal Days!
Sukeen Cooling Towel 4-Pack – The cooling system on these towels uses moisture from the towel to draw the sweat away from your skin to keep you cool. We still prefer the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad, but some Walt Disney World fans prefer these.
Personal Neck Fan – Shockingly effective–like that refreshing feeling you get when walking past an open doorway of an air-conditioned building. It’s not perfect, but it’s a really fantastic idea, and is a breath of fresh air during hot and humid days in Florida.
Handheld Portable Small Fan (USB Chargeable) – If you don’t want to be quite as dorky with the neck fan and don’t want to wear a cooling towel, this classic handheld fan is the more traditional option for keeping cool.
TravelPro Luggage – There are a variety of suitcases from TravelPro discounted by 28% to 36% off for the October Prime Day. There are objectively better luggage deals, but this is far and away our favorite brand–and the one preferred by pilots and flight attendants.
Compression Packing Cubes – They key here is that these are compression packing cubes, which normally cost more and will save you even more space when packing. We haven’t used this brand, but the combo of discount + coupon is tempting (and we’ve found brand doesn’t really matter with this stuff).
Gonex Compression Cubes – Great Gonex deal for Big Deal Days.
Packing Cube Sets (Multiple Sizes) – Another staple of our packing list, we are fans of packing cubes and these are a solid deal at 49% off (plus coupon). There are a LOT of packing cubes on sale, so you might want to browse the results for “packing cubes” on the Prime Day page and see which sizes/colors/etc. best suit you.)
Gonex Packable Backpack — This takes up minimal room in your suitcase and more importantly is super lightweight. That minimizes the amount of back-sweat you’ll have to endure from the Florida heat and humidity. Works as a lightweight diaper bag, too!
Travel Bottles for Toiletries – Great option for soaps and shampoo. And, who knows, maybe you can refill them in the shower at Walt Disney World to have some souvenirs to take home. Not an official recommendation.
Mickey Mouse 3D Coffee Mug – Not your ordinary coffee mugs. Peek inside and discover Mickey’s ears shaping your coffee in optical 3D. These coffee cups are 47% off for Prime Day!
Minnie Mouse Earrings – Cute food-themed Minnie Mouse earrings, and a great deal at 43% off!
Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Ultra-Compact Travel Stroller – About half of the family travel blogs we’ve been reading recommend this stroller for theme parks and beyond. We haven’t used it yet, but it sounds like a great option!
Graco Slimfit 3 in 1 Car Seat – Similar story here, but with a car seat. Obviously not a direct nexus to Walt Disney World, but something that we (and presumably others?) will be using to get there and around the resort complex.
Disney Books (3 for 2)
Get 3 for the Price of 2 – Items from this page are buy 2, get 1 free. (Everything listed below is on sale and part of the promo.)
- Add 3 items from the products below to your Cart using the Add to Cart button or select See Options for specific product variations.
- When you’re done shopping, select Go to Cart.
- The offer will automatically be applied at checkout, if eligible.
Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World – This is a cookbook, with recipes for iconic dishes–and so much more. You’ll also find rare restaurant concept art, history (my favorite is “Walt Loved Fried Chicken”), and old menu scans.
Walt’s Disneyland: A Walk in the Park with Walt Disney – See the original magic kingdom through Walt Disney’s eyes, with a look at how he touched the park, land-by-land. Already a great deal for October’s Prime Day made even better by the 3 for 2 offer.
The Haunted Mansion: Imagineering a Disney Classic – This is an incredibly detailed and must-own book that covers the Haunted Mansion attractions in all of the worldwide parks inside and out. If you want a better appreciation of this iconic attraction and what went into it that has made it stand the test of time, this book is for you.
Thomas Kinkade Disney Coloring Books – Given that color and light are the whole point of Kinkade paintings, this strikes us as an odd one. But good filler if there’s nothing else you want in the 3 for 2 deal.
Disney Games
Haunted Mansion: Call of The Spirits Board Game – I’m a total sucker for cheesy and cheeky board games, as well as Walt Disney World board games. This is the perfect intersection of those interests. It’s a fairly strategic game that’s easy enough for kids but also deep enough for adults. (Both versions are on sale.)
Funko Pop! Chip ‘n’ Dale Christmas Treasures Game – As a huge fan of Pluto’s Christmas Tree, this was an “instant order” for me. 44% off for Big Deal Days!
Villainous Disney Strategy Board Game – This game by Ravensburger has received rave reviews and won the prestigious ‘Game of the Year’ Award at the TOTY Awards. It’s made our past deal lists with superior savings, but is on sale again for Prime Day.
Disney Eye Found It Card Game — The standard board game version of the beloved game—30% off plus a clippable coupon!
Funko Disney It’s a Small World Game – It’s the happiest cruise that ever sailed! Not the cheapest it’s ever been, but not bad.
Something Wild! Mickey & Friends Character Card Game — Another fast-paced and easy-to-learn family card game featuring beloved Disney characters and Pop! pocket figures.
Magical World of Disney Trivia (2,000 Questions) – This game is perfect for superfans to casual viewers questions covering a wide range of Disney and Pixar stories, and with easier questions for kids.
Sorry! Board Game: Disney Villains Edition – This family game combines classic Sorry gameplay with a wickedly fun Disney Villains inspired board, Spell cards, and 16 Villain pawns.
Disney Toys
Mattel Disney Princess Carriage-to-Castle Transforming Play Set – As the name suggests, this changes from a carriage to a castle to allow kids to whisk away their Disney Princess small dolls to the next adventure and dance the night away at the castle–all in one playset! 40% off for Big Deal Days.
Disney Junior Minnie Mouse Bowdazzling Dress-Up Trunk – As the name suggests, it’s a trunk of adorable Minnie Mouse dresses.
Disney Encanto Madrigal Sisters Dress Up Trunk – Same idea, but just the dresses for Mirabel & Isabela.
Talking Baby Yoda Character – This talking Baby Yoda figure makes 10 different vocalizations and is described by Hasbro as “cuddly.” It’s styled after the Grogu character from the Disney+ series, with an authentic appearance.
Cars Set of 10 Die-Cast Mini Racers Vehicles – Rev up for the new Cars Land at Magic Kingdom with this set of toys, which is 30% off for Big Deal Days.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Baby Yoda Figure – Honestly not my cup of tea (Grogu’s whole thing is cuteness and this…isn’t), but a great deal for October Prime Day.
LEGO Disney Stitch – Same idea, but they pulled it off better with Stitch IMO.
LEGO Madrigal House from Encanto – A great deal on the fan-favorite Encanto casita at 40% off.
LEGO Disney Wish Asha’s Cottage – Lots of Wish and Little Mermaid (live action) toys are on sale, including LEGO sets. Regardless of the movie’s quality, this looks fun.
LEGO Disney Princess Enchanted Journey Building Set – I don’t remember hot air balloon travel being featured in any Disney princess story…but perhaps it should be.
More Disney Books
Poster Art of the Disney Parks, Second Edition – This is an expanded and updated edition of the beloved book that ranks highly in our library. The second edition renders the first obsolete, as the 85+ new posters and behind-the-scenes development info nearly doubles the book in length. It’s worth it for all of the awesome new posters made for EPCOT’s reimagining alone.
A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of The Most Magical Place on Earth – Our favorite Walt Disney World coffee table book ever. In style, structure, and quality, this is unrivaled. Truly the best thing to come out of the 50th Anniversary celebration, this covers everything from development to the evolution of Walt Disney World, with tons of rare photos and concept art. You can read our full review if you want, but the bottom line is that this is the best book about Walt Disney World.
The Walt Disney Film Archives. The Animated Movies 1921—1968 – Another great TASCHEN title, for an unbeatable price.
Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks: Celebrations Around the World — This is an incredible deep dive into the holidays (mostly Christmas and Halloween, but also Easter and other seasonal events) with great photos, detailed information, and rich history. If you love the seasonal events, this is an absolute must-own.
If you want a broad selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Day Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!
Also, check back here throughout the deal, as I’ll share more Lightning Deals as they become available if they’re any good. Oh, and if you find anything that you think would be useful for other Disney fans, please share in the comments below!
