Connecticut has unveiled what it describes as the first Christmas Movie Trail nationwide, an experiential attraction that nudges holiday film buffs to fan out across 22 filming sites of quaint towns and bustling cities within Connecticut

Hallmark, Netflix and Lifetime movies shine on the new tourist attraction with so much created at 22 filming locations spread throughout Connecticut. The public learned about the trail map at Wethersfield’s Silas W. Robbins House, an old mansion seen in a Hallmark movie. Actors and producers made an appearance for the event. Governor Ned Lamont and local officials alike have enjoyed accolades over the trail, touting Connecticut’s connection to holiday films and tourists.

The trail offers fans a chance for “set-jetting” through inns, cafes, and stunning streets in films like Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane and One Royal Holiday. The cinematic initiative has been a boon economically, bringing in more than $58 million in jobs, local business, and tourism to Connecticut. Local dining, historic inns, and festive town squares are just a few highlights that enable visitors to embrace the seasonal charm often shown on screen. The event included holiday-inspired food and drink, Victorian-dressed carolers, and the opportunity to meet beloved holiday movie stars for a heartwarming celebration of Connecticut’s role as a destination for seasonal holiday fun.
