How much time is better to spend in Morocco? Two weeks is the perfect time to explore Morocco, but you can still get a good sense of the country with just one week or, even better, at least 10 days. However, you’ll face some tough choices about what to include in your Morocco travel plan.

For instance, if you dream of riding camels in the Sahara and spending a night in a desert camp, it’s a challenge in a one-week itinerary unless you focus on Marrakech and the desert. The drive from Fes to Merzouga at the Sahara’s edge is over eight hours, even farther from Marrakech. With only 7 days, you can still have a camel desert experience, but it might be in a rocky desert.

Likewise, squeezing in the beautiful Blue City of Chefchaouen in the far north is tricky with just a 10-day Morocco plan, unless you’re willing to skip the desert. Even in our 12-day trip, we found it a bit challenging.

HOW TO GET TO MOROCCO?

Many visitors from the United States usually fly into Casablanca, but there’s a chance to land in Marrakech if you connect through Europe. U.S. cities with direct flights to Morocco include New York, Washington D.C., and Miami. In Europe, you can find direct flights from cities like Paris, London, Lisbon, and Madrid. Major airlines such as Air France, British Airways, and Royal Air Maroc offer direct flights. Additionally, budget airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet provide affordable options for flying to Morocco.

WHERE TO STAY IN MOROCCO?

As we go through each destination in the Morocco travel plan, I’ll provide specific hotel and accommodation recommendations. However, I suggest all visitors in Morocco explore authentic Riads and boutique hotels. While we had an amazing stay at the Four Seasons in Marrakech, some of our other stays, in more local places, left an even greater impression.
