September is a dichotomous month — not quite summer, but not quite autumn. The good news is that means in Philadelphia, residents and visitors alike can either savor the dwindling days of summer or lean fully into fall fun — but we highly suggest doing both.
Stretch out summer with last calls at some of Philly’s favorite warm weather spaces, like Independence Blue Cross River Rink Summerfest, Spruce Street Harbor Park and roving beer garden Parks on Tap.
Or, kick off harvest and spooky seasons with the arrival of fall staples like Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards, Peddler’s Village Scarecrow Festival and Shady Brook Farm FallFest, along with the first openings of professional haunted houses across the region.
Mid-September also marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, and Philly goes grande to celebrate with annual cultural events like the Mexican Independence Day Festival at Penn’s Landing and the Puerto Rican Day Parade on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
And don’t miss a slew of other great events including Fishtown Feastivale, Delaware River Festival, Kennett Square Mushroom Festival, Doylestown Arts Festival, the Disability Pride Philadelphia Festival and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
