Many knowledgeable travelers prefer to visit exotic destinations in the autumn, taking advantage of the quieter atmosphere after the busy summer. Autumn is the ideal time to explore beautiful places with greater tranquility. A recent study has identified the 30 whitest sand beaches in the world, as ranked by the travel agency CV Villas.
The research involved analyzing unedited screenshots from Google Maps of over 200 beaches worldwide. The RGB (Red, Green, Blue) code of the sand at each location was examined and compared to the purest shade of white (255, 255, 255 on the RGB scale) using the “colormine” calculator. This analysis helped determine the beaches that came closest to this shade.
The Tulum Beach Has the Whitest Sand
Tulum Beach, located in the Riviera Maya on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, is renowned globally for its natural beauty and is now celebrated as the beach with the whitest sand in the world, differing by only 1.4 points from pure white.
This destination is distinguished by its fine white sand and the crystal-clear, turquoise waters that wash over its coast. The sand’s almost perfect whitish color is mainly due to its composition, which consists of finely eroded coral particles and shells.
European Beaches with the Whitest Sand
In second place is Anse Source D’Argent in the Seychelles, with a difference of 4.3 points. It is the only African beach in the top 30 global ranking.
European beaches dominate the list, with 15 locations in the top 30. Marmari Beach in Kos, Greece, takes third place, differing by 6.5 points. It is followed by Tropea Beach in southern Italy and Playa de Muro in Mallorca, both with sands that almost reach white perfection.
