Walt Disney World has released resort room-only discounts for Summer 2025 for Annual Passholders and Florida residents offer savings of up to 40% off select dates through July 2025. This post shares the details of these rare and exceptional special offers, plus sample pricing, commentary, analysis & other info.
In case you’ve forgotten, there are currently other special offers for Annual Passholders and Floridians that run between now and year’s end. Generally speaking, the AP discount is better. That’s almost always the case, as Annual Passholders usually receive 5-10% better savings than Floridians. All other details (eligible dates, resorts in each tier, room inventory, etc.) are typically identically between the special offers. Hence our lumping them together here.
These aren’t the only deals available for booking right now–just two for Annual Passholders and Florida residents (there’s another set of AP/FL deals for travel dates immediately before this). For everything else, see All Current Walt Disney World Discounts for 2025. That covers promos for the general public, as well as all of the targeted deals. There are promos available for pretty much all dates between now and December 2025. But what we’ll be looking at here is the discounts for that run during Summer 2025…
Per Walt Disney World, here are the deal details: Annual Passholders can stay in the magic and save with this special offer, valid on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels.
- Save up to 40% on rooms for stays most nights from June 1 to July 31, 2025
- Save up to 35% on rooms for stays most nights from May 1 to May 31, 2025
When you stay at Disney Resorts Collection hotels, you can enjoy the same legendary detail, storytelling and service found in the theme parks—along with an array of benefits.

Here’s the resort by resort Florida resident room rate discount chart:
Proof of Florida residency required at check-in. Otherwise, same terms & conditions apply as the AP deal, including the resort and room category exclusions. You can book this deal on DisneyWorld.com here.
Alternatively, if you want to take advantage of either discount but want someone else to do the work, we’d recommend requesting a FREE no obligation quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and having them book for you. They will happy to assist you with the planning process, help you choose the most economical dates, best add-ons, and so forth. Notably, they also monitor reservations and can retroactively apply new discounts if a better deal is released to save you more money.
Here’s a sampling of available rates for the Annual Passholder discount:
This search is for the night of June 25, 2025, which is part of the summer rate season at Walt Disney World. On the rack rate chart spectrum, this is about middle of the pack. Similarly-priced dates can be found throughout June, July and August 2025, with slightly lower rates available in May 2025.
You might notice that this is for a date that offers higher savings per the above AP discount chart. And while that’s true, the starting rack rates are also higher. Walt Disney World has done this bifurcated rate chart thing for several promos in the last year or so, and it still trips people up. Understandably so!
Planners are used to seeing the highest savings at the times that are slowest and, by extension, cheapest. However, Walt Disney World has moved away from that practice more recently, offering bigger discounts (and more of them) at times when rack rates are already higher. We’ve seen this for a few years right around Christmas week, again last year during the heart of Spring Break, and then with the first wave of 2025 promos.
Given the trend-line, my assumption is that consumers are being more price-sensitive, and Walt Disney World raised room prices too much in 2019-2022. It’s likely that they’re trading down to cheaper dates or resorts as a result. (This is also supported by 2025 rack rates not going up much at all and, in some cases, actually decreasing. That almost never happens, even by ever-so-slight amounts.)
Along with weather, this is probably also why January and February have become two of the most popular times to visit Walt Disney World, and when the resorts have incredibly high occupancy numbers. Last year, many of you questioned why hotels were sold out completely for some dates–and those were the only two months that saw year-over-year wait times increases. (Anecdotally, feels like crowds were also up.) It’s no coincidence that those are the two cheapest resort rate seasons, too. Same applies here with May vs. summer.
So now the “solution” is offering better discounts to normalize pricing and level the numbers for May and June-July. This is the Kohl’s School of Pricing on full display, and I would caution against reading anything into it for shoulder season vs. summer season occupancy. I fully expect July to be busier than mid-May, even if summer as a whole has slowed down in the last several years.
In doing quick sample searches, I found that whether May or June to July dates were cheaper largely depended upon what was available room category-wise at each resort. The extra 5% off in summer is usually offset by the higher rack rates, so for the most part, it’s a wash as to which dates are better.
Rates also vary on different days of the week. Friday through Sunday nights are all going to be more expensive, and less consistent. In general, Friday and Saturday will be the most expensive days of the week, with Sunday through Thursday costing less–but still more than Monday through Wednesday nights. Holiday weeks are also more expensive. Basically, room rates are higher any time when kids are out of school.
For more on timing your trip to coincide with the lowest prices, see When’s Cheapest to Visit Walt Disney World in 2025? That covers price increases and other variables that impact the cost of a vacation beyond just room rates.
My assessment this discount is very positive. It’s tough to compare all of the 2024 vs. 2025 charts since they’re not apples to apples, but what I’m seeing is savings that are, on average, 5% better than the same dates last year for each resort tier (e.g. 40% off instead of 35% off). There are some resorts that offer 10% off more, with All Star Sports falling into this category.
In general, it’s been a long time since Walt Disney World has released a 40% off deal for Annual Passholders. In looking through the archives, there was briefly one two Christmases ago, but only for a handful of dates when rates are at their highest levels–and that offered very little availability. For the most recent “real” 40% off deal, we’d have to look back to late 2020 or early 2021. Obviously, the circumstances were different then (just a little) as travel had grinded to a halt.
The biggest winners with this special offer are resorts that were in last year’s 10% off tier. These were the ones where pent-up demand hadn’t quite exhausted itself (or so Walt Disney World thought). That category included Beach Club & BoardWalk Villas, Port Orleans French Quarter, and the Polynesian. This year, all of those resorts are in the 35% off or 40% off tiers. That’s a huge difference, and better discounting is precisely why the Poly and POFQ made our list of the Best Hotels at Walt Disney World in 2025.
For everything else that only shifted 5%, that’s still pretty good! Last year’s deals were already very good–far better than anything we had seen in the ~3 years prior. It also helps that rack rates for most of these resorts also didn’t increase by much in 2025.
Just look at the list of prices above. Sure, there are no sub-$100 Value Resort prices like we often see for winter dates, but $150 for Pop Century in the summer is unheard of. Moderates are in the sub-$200 starting range is great. Several other Deluxe Resorts in the $300s and $400s per night! That’s all really good, and much better than what Walt Disney World was offering in 2021-2022.
This is where it really pays to be an Annual Passholder. Florida resident rates are still very good, but not quite as attractive. Also, there’s the requirement that you book by February 24, 2025 for maximum savings. Honestly, you’d probably better book well before then for the AP rate, too, as Walt Disney World has developed a habit of pulling discounts early in the last couple of years once they’ve hit occupancy targets.

Another thing to keep in mind is the restoration of free parking at Walt Disney World resorts. For those who are driving or renting a car, there’s also the added bonus of not having to pay for parking. Most off-site hotels still charge for parking, so that’s something to consider if you’re debating Disney hotels or something at Universal Orlando, Flamingo Crossings, Disney Springs, Bonnet Creek, etc.
Speaking of on-site perks, don’t underestimate the value of Early Entry and (potentially) Extended Evening Hours. We’ve found that many fans dismiss the former due to it being “only” 30 minutes, but we’ve found Early Entry to be incredibly advantageous (see our Guide to Early Entry at Walt Disney World).
For those who are eligible, Extended Evening Hours is absolutely fantastic (see our Guide to Extended Evening Hours at Walt Disney World for strategy and other info). We wouldn’t recommend booking a Deluxe or Villa Resort just for Extended Evening Hours, but if you’re on the fence or thinking about a split stay…it’s a good idea. Consider putting that money towards upgrading your accommodations instead of something like After Hours.
Oh, and don’t forget the return of the on-site advantage of ride reservations. If you’re going to purchase the new line-skipping service, having the 7-day window (plus length of stay–up to 14 days) is huge. It’s probably going to be make-or-break when it comes to booking Slinky Dog Dash, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and other headliners. See our Lightning Lane Multi-Pass at Walt Disney World FAQ.
Ultimately, if you’re an Annual Passholder who is eager for summer getaway to Walt Disney World to see Disney Starlight Night Parade or to use WDW as a home base when visiting Epic Universe, these deals are really strong. Shockingly strong for summer, which might be explained with the second part of that previous sentence. Here’s hoping that Epic Universe puts the squeeze on Disney and results in more deals like this–and better ones!
You can still do better with Disney Vacation Club Point Rentals, but the gap is starting to close and it’s too late to rent for most of these dates, anyway. We will continue to closely monitoring discounts as they’re released and will notify subscribers of our free email newsletter when any Walt Disney World discounts are released or rumored!
